Christine Ridgway, Principal and Lead Designer of Empire Designs
and Events, received her Associates of Fine Arts from Kent State
University. Her design education was also complemented by studying
with architects for many years. She absorbed valuable lessons on space
planning and other key ingredients to impactful and practical design.
Accepted by the Ohio University’s juried portfolio program, Christine
graduated with a Bachelors degree in Interior Design.
Christine is currently the President of Mercy Hospital’s Service
League and President for the Interior Design Society of Northeast
Ohio.
Empire’s deep exploration of creative possibilities was founded
during Christine’s formative years in higher education. She immersed
herself in every possible experience. Her thirst for all things
creative took her on many journeys such as: Supporting herself through
school by designing fabulous wedding cakes; Collaborating on a book
for the local Historical Society on Architecture in Stark County,
Ohio; Working as a Presentation Designer for a large retail company
(now known as Dillard’s).
This real-world experience prepared her for career in client
services.

profit organizations and events including: Founder of Marietta
Memorial Hospital’s “Friends and Trends” fashion show; Battered
Woman’s Shelter Auction, Children’s Hospital “Festival of Trees”;
Humane Society of Southern Ohio “Adopt a Pet Program”; American Cancer
Society’s “Daffodil Sales.”
